Another Award for a Blackmore Apprentice

Blackmore’s Apprentice, Daniel Mydlowski, has achieved Highly Commended for the ‘Kathy Woodward Award for Learning’ by the BPIF (British Printing Industries Federation Limited).  Daniel collected his award at the BPIF Members’ Day Print Reception at the House of Lords on 14^th July.

Daniel is the second apprentice at Blackmore to receive a major industry award, after Mateusz Sapko won BPIF’s Apprentice of the Year Award in 2023.  Daniel’s apprenticeship in Pre-Press includes file handling, customer file manipulation, impositions, proofing and quality assurance.

Blackmore’s apprentice, Daniel Mydlowski, said, “I’m very passionate about print and graphic design and hope to continue to develop my skills and use them to advance in my career.  I’m currently working hard towards finishing my Level 3 Pre-Press Apprenticeship, which I hope to complete in early 2027.  I’m thankful for my apprenticeship opportunity, as it gives me a greater understanding of print as a whole.”

Blackmore’s Production Director, Nigel Hunt, said, “Congratulations to Daniel on collecting his award at the House of Lords.  We are incredibly proud of this talented young man, who is already becoming a real asset to Blackmore.  This is a fantastic achievement, and we look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes in the future.”

The Kathy Woodward Award for Learning was launched in 2015 in memory of the BPIF’s CEO, who sadly passed away in 2014.  The award supports individuals working in the print, packaging and graphic design industries to further their careers through learning and professional development.
